Alternative album reviews... *Slow, Deep and Hard...*Contents:Not quite finished this yet...To read lyrics go to Slow, Deep And Hard Lyrics
*Origin Of The Feces...*Contents: I Know You're Fucking Someone Else, Are You Afraid, Gravity, Pain, Kill You Tonight, Hey Pete, Kill You Tonight (Reprise), Paranoid. The live album...Taped October 31st, 1991 at Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, N.Y....It starts with the audience chanting "You Suck" towards the stage. Quite a good picture of how most TON shows seem to start. The album itself contains the classical Black Sabbath cover "Paranoid" in a slow, mellow and very TON-ish version. On that track Peter, once again, proves what an amazing voice he's got. Choosing my favourite song off this album's got to be an election between "I Know You're Fucking Someone Else", "Pain" or "Kill You Tonight." (<= Including the groovy reprise). Might have to add "Gravity" to the list too... Even if *Origin Of The Feces* is a live album the sound is really good, hardly no bumps or whining noises (A thing I often find annoying on live albums). And Peter seems to be in a good mood for that show; He's got a perfect comment to every song* and seems not to care at all when the audience is doing their best to annoy the shit outta him. Another great thing about this album (for me at least..) is that it makes me remember their appearance at the Midtfyns Festival in Denmark this summer. The style they played at this concert is pre-*Bloody Kisses.* Meaning that it's faster and more aggressive than the albums after this release. Tonight, as I'm writing this, I've just realised how much I love "I Know You're Fucking Someone Else." So sweet, and yet slightly brutal...*Check this one after "Hey Pete" ......"Baby, tonight you sleep at Kenny's house!"To read lyrics go to Origin Of The Feces Lyrics*Bloody Kisses...*Contents: Machine Screw, Christian Woman, Black no.1 (Little Miss Scare-All), Fay Wray Come Out And Play, Kill All The White People, Summer Breeze, Set me On Fire (Summer Girl), Dark Side Of The Womb, We Hate Everyone, Bloody Kisses (A Death In The Family), 3.0.I.F., Too Late: Frozen, Blood And Fire, I Can't Loose You.Well, we all know "Black no.1"...But there's more to *Bloody Kisses* than that one song. *Bloody Kisses* contains so many relevant topics and therefor it is one of my favourites in the collection. I know that a lot of people think that H.C. songs as "Kill All The White People" and "We Hate Everyone" don't belong on the record, but both of them are great songs, filled with energy and humour. They certainly kick the @$$es off of the journalists and politicians (from the left- as well as the right-wing) who accused the band of being both racists and communists. *Read the lyrics* Then again, lots of others think that "Summer Breeze/Set Me On Fire" are a bit too soft. But I find them very sweet and romantic. (I think that I speak for every TON girl around, when I say that I'd love for Peter to sing that song for me on a romantic night.....;) Btw, did any of you notice that it was "Summer Breeze" in beginning of the movie "I Know What You Did Last Summer"?? A track that's really surprised me since the first time I listened to it, is "Bloody Kisses" (A Death In The Family). It is so honest..... But then again, to me, Type O Negative has always been about living out feelings. Not covering them up or hiding them away. If you read the article "Wild artiklens navn" in my "Papercuts" section you'll see that Peter is a great (did I say LARGE...*grin*) believer of going back to the instincts. He's not afraid of trusting his intuition, and he uses his own experiences in the songs. Here they come out in the best way possible. To read lyrics go to Bloody Kisses Lyrics*October Rust...*Contents: Bad Ground, Untitled (Greetings from the band), Love You To Death, Be My Druidess, Green Man, Red Water (Christmas Mourning), My Girlfriends Girlfriend, Die With Me, Burnt Flowers Fallen, In Praise Of Bacchus, Cinnamon Girl, The Glorious Liberation Of The People's Technocratic Republic Of Vinnland By The Combined Forces Of The United Territories Of Europa, Wolf Moon (Including Zoantropic Paranoia), Haunted, Untitled (Peter saying goodbye). Some say that the Pagan feeling of the latest opus from Type O Negative is a wimpy attempt to top the success of *Bloody Kisses*. But I think that the development that's been going on in the members of the group, is shown in a very good way. They show that they've got more talent than the commercial media's gave them credit for in their reviews of the other records. On tracks like "Love You To Death" and "Haunted" their music transcends to art. I've always thought that Peter's lyrics were poetry, more than just lyrics, but on this album the even the lyrics reach a higher level/meaning. So in that way you can really say that the members of the band allows themselves to use every talent they've got. (Meaning a lot :)To read lyrics go to October Rust Lyrics
