*Type O Negative at the Midtfyns Festival '97*
Spring of '97....A friend started asking me if I would help her find pictures of a band called....Well, guess what. We found them pictures pretty fast, and *sigh* they certainly catched my interest from the first moment...Got more and more interested in the band and did my best to find some of their music. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find more than an old used copy of "Black no. 1" But okay, it wasn't a bad song or anything But I wanted to hear more.... Late February or March I was made aware of the fact that Type O Negative would be playing the Midtfyns Festival in June. Hmm, what was I to do but go there to find out if I liked the music. My expectations were high as I walked towards the show. I'd been studying my homework = reading ANYTHING about the band, and bought a bottle of redwine to enjoy whilst listening to the music. I got to there (just foinding out that I had forgotten the wine, but I didn't really want to leave the place and miss the show because of that) so we found a place where we were able to see the stage and the big-screen. The intro music started and I was struck with fear...It was really scary! Hmm, my friend and I found a bench to stand on, and it lifted us above oridinary audience height....Paradise:)The first tunes hit us as the band entered the stage in a green mist, okay...I was starting to get REALLY interested now. And I was like, paralyzed after the first 5 or 10 minutes. The rest of the concert just kept getting better and better, it was the first time a band intrigued me so fast, and so strongly. As the show ended, Peter threw his bass into the pit and the people there started fighting for it. As security claimed it, they soon gave up on ever seeing it again and went away. But I had gotten a better idea of how I could get a token to remember the best concert I've ever seen by..(I'd seen Megadeth, Biohazard, Rollins Band, Jim Rose & The Circus Side Show, Placebo and Jamiroquai by then but NONE of them could even hope to reach TON...Well maybe Biohazard could reach Peter's knee, but anyways....) So I jumped to the stage, started screaming at the security guards and told them to bring me one of the setlists (a setlist is a piece of paper used by the band to remember which tunes to play). Anyone interested in seeing it? Setlist Well, here's your chance.....Back to Main pageOr to Papercuts
